This is particularly popular for those who don’t want a funeral service once they pass, but who do want to make their wishes known. Available as cremation only.

A coffin suitable for cremation, selected by the funeral director.
Bringing the deceased into the care of our premises within a 25-mile radius during working hours only.
Care of the deceased prior to cremation.
£500 allowance towards third party costs.

Plan 2

If you’re looking for a pre-paid funeral plan that covers more than just the essentials, a Simple Way plan provides the additional benefits and flexibility that may be suited to your needs. Available as burial or cremation, this funeral type is what you may be expecting from a basic traditional send off. Take a look at what this funeral cover plan consists of below.

What this plan contains

A simple coffin, typically oak.
Bringing the deceased into the care of our premises within a 25-mile radius during working hours only.
Funeral service at a local cemetery or crematorium.
Hearse to a local cemetery or crematorium.
£1,100 allowance towards third party costs.

Plan 3

This pre-paid option includes the same services as the Simple Way plan, plus a limousine and higher quality coffin. This option is also available as burial or cremation.

What this plan contains

A high-quality coffin, typically solid wood.
Bringing the deceased into the care of our premises within a 25-mile radius. 24-hour service.
Funeral service at a local cemetery or crematorium.
Funeral procession to the funeral location.
£1,100 allowance towards third party costs.

Plan 4

As the most comprehensive pre-paid funeral plan, an Exclusive Way plan offers the same services as the Traditional Plan plus two limousines and a superior coffin. This plan is available as burial or cremation.

What this plan contains

A superior coffin, typically walnut wood.
Bringing the deceased into the care of our premises within a 25-mile radius. 24-hour service.
£1,100 allowance towards third party costs.
24 hour funeral director telephone support for loved ones.

Additional Third Party Costs

The above services and costs listed for different pre-paid funeral plans include all of the funeral director services, which can be paid for in advance. However, there are also essential third party services required to carry out a cremation or burial which need to be paid at the time of the funeral. These third party services and costs are separate to those carried out by the funeral director and are therefore outside of our control and not included in the plan.

They may include:

Crematorium fee.
Minister or officiant’s fee.
Cemetery fee: the opening of a new or existing grave for burial or interment of cremated remains.

Depending on the plan type you choose, a Golden Charter funeral plan can include a contribution towards some third party costs.

There will only be additional costs to pay at the time of the funeral if the third party costs exceed the allowance when you buy your plan, or if the costs increase by more than the growth of your plan. Once your funeral plan is paid for, you’ll have the reassurance of knowing there’ll be nothing more to pay for our services included in the plan – guaranteed.

* For the instalment payment option you must be aged under 78 at the start date of your plan and pay the total cost by your 80th birthday.

About Golden Charter Funeral Plans

As a Golden Charter plan holder, you’ll receive personalised funeral plan documents. These include a summary of your plan, Golden Charter’s contact details, your plan holder certificate and a personal membership card, which can be carried in your purse or wallet. You can also add a nominated representative to your plan if you wish to do so. Your nominated representative will receive a letter which will provide details of your plan and our details, as your chosen funeral director. They will have no authority to make changes to your plan.

You’ll also receive a statement from Golden Charter every three years which will be sent via your preferred contact method.

As your funeral director, we’ll hold full details of your funeral plan. When the time comes, to activate your plan just phone us and get the arrangements underway.
